I accept a limited number of commissions for original figurative oil paintings. A painting may be based on the client, another adult who has given written permission, or another agreed-upon figure reference.

Sizes and Prices

9" × 12" linen board, unframed

Base Rates:

  • Single figure: $1,800

  • Two figures: $2,800

  • Multiple figures: Price determined by composition and complexity

For an 11" × 14" painting, add approximately $400–$600 to the prices above, depending on the number of figures and complexity of the composition. Larger sizes are also available upon request.

Selecting the Image

The client and I will discuss the pose, composition, size, and overall direction of the painting before work begins. The final reference and composition must be approved by everyone involved.

Clients may provide their own digital reference photographs. The photographs must be clear, well-lit, in color, and supplied at the highest available resolution. The client must own the photographs or have written permission from the photographer and every identifiable adult appearing in them.

Reference photographs will be treated respectfully and used only for the agreed painting unless additional permission is provided.

A private photography session may also be arranged. The location, schedule, poses, and any additional costs will be discussed in advance.

Painting and Approval Process

The finished work will be an original oil painting based on the approved reference—not an exact photographic reproduction.

The client will have two opportunities to request reasonable adjustments during the painting process. The timing of these reviews will be established before work begins.

A non-refundable deposit of 50% is required before painting begins. The remaining balance is due when the painting is completed and before it is delivered or shipped.

Ownership and Copyright

The physical painting becomes the client’s property after payment has been received in full. I retain the copyright and reproduction rights to the artwork unless different terms are agreed upon in writing.

All commission details will be confirmed in a written agreement signed and dated by everyone involved.
